This book translates a sense of warmth and care into illustration. It starts from a small, intimate moment: touching and carefully arranging another person’s hair. In the illustrations, I search for a visual language in which this warmth becomes becomes real and touchable. Not as something fixed, but as something that emerges in the space between people. Repeated elements, such as warm coffee and an egg cosy, act as subtle references to an inner sense of warmth. For me as a maker, this exploration of care and intimacy is also a way to understand and make humanity visible.

This experimental book looks at a relationship through my interpretation of text and music by Fiona Apple. Mountains act as a visual symbol of unpredictability and the unknown. The work reflects patterns of human behaviour such as attachment and uncertainty, and was developed through working quickly and responding to material outcomes.
